There has been a significant increase in the number of factories being built to produce batteries for EVs in the US. The demand for batteries for EVs is driven by the increasing adoption of EVs, which currently make up about 6% of new vehicle sales in the United States. According to research by Atlas Public Policy, more than $128 billion has been invested in the construction of EV and battery factories and battery recycling plants in the United States. In 2022 alone, companies announced more than $73 billion in planned projects, more than three times the previous record set in 2021. These projects are expected to create more than 150,000 direct jobs.  What’s in store for 2023?
