Honda and GS Yuasa

GS Yuasa Corporation, a consolidated subsidiary of GS Yuasa International Ltd, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Honda Motor Co. that will bring the two groups together to impact the EV world. The focus will be R&D of high-capacity and high-output lithium-ion batteries, primarily for EV use, and the required production methods, planning for products, and designing of an efficient production operation, including the supply chain for key raw materials. The two companies will discuss specifics with the goal of establishing a joint venture company by the end of 2023. The collaboration is part of Honda's plan to achieve carbon neutrality for all products and corporate activities by 2050.
