UK EV Chargers
The UK saw a record number of public electric vehicle chargers installed in 2022, with over 8,700 chargers added, bringing the total number available to more than 37,000. This represented a 30% increase year-on-year. The UK government has set a target of 300,000 publicly available chargers by 2030, when the sale of gas and diesel cars will be banned. To achieve this goal, the UK would need to add 37,571 chargers every year starting now for the next 7 years. The EV industry generally sees the target as realistic, but local authorities may need to act more quickly to facilitate the necessary installation of chargers. Do you think the UK will meet its target?
