VinFast Price Slash
Vietnamese automaker VinFast has slashed the lease price of its first electric model being shipped to the United States by over 50% for initial customers in California, as per the company and customer emails examined by Reuters. The VinFast VF8, an all-electric crossover, was originally set at $599 per month for a 24-month lease. However, the website now shows a monthly lease price of $399 for the same period. For those customers who had already made a deposit on the car, VinFast informed them that the payment would be $274 per month in California, the first U.S. state to receive the vehicles. The new price is a discount of between 33% and 54% from the initially advertised monthly lease price.
"This is our special offer to VinFast customers for the VF 8 City Edition models in order to stay competitive with other brands," VinFast said in a statement, without specifying the number of units in the 999 batch shipped to California last year. This price reduction aligns with other manufacturers and is certainly a benefit if you in the market for an EV.
