Volvo EX30 Unveiled in Milan

The Volvo EX30 is a small, fully electric SUV that was revealed in Milan, Italy on June 7, 2023. It is the most affordable and sustainable Volvo car to date, with a starting price of $34,950 and a carbon footprint of below 30 tons over 124,274 miles of driving. It also offers cutting-edge safety and technology features, as well as Scandinavian design.

The EX30 comes with two powertrain options: a Single Motor Extended Range variant with a 64 kWh NMC battery and a rear-mounted electric motor that delivers 268 hp and 275 miles of range; and a Twin Motor Performance variant with an additional front-mounted electric motor that boosts the output to 422 hp and the acceleration to 3.4 seconds from 0-60 mph, making it the fastest-accelerating Volvo ever. Both variants can charge at up to 153 kW, reaching 80% battery level in less than 27 minutes.

The EX30 has a compact and refined exterior, with a long wheelbase, large wheels, equal overhangs, a closed shield, and Thor’s Hammer headlights. It also offers five vibrant exterior colors, including Moss Yellow inspired by lichen on Swedish rocks. The interior is minimalist and eco-friendly, with recycled materials, a single 12.3-inch touchscreen, and a full-width sound bar on the dashboard. The EX30 also features blind spot monitors that prevent dooring cyclists, among other safety innovations.
