My Wind Take
I’ve driven through Kansas a few times and always remember seeing the fields of wind turbines. From a distance, they look small. In reality, they are huge. Some wind turbines have blades of around 150’ long and stand at a monstrous 200’+.
The Rivian wind turbine in Normal is expected to produce 10 million kWh of electricity per year. To put that into perspective, the average home uses around 10,632 kWh per year. If my math is correct, that’s enough power for 940 houses a year. You could also charge 150,000 EVs every year. From the wind.
Who knew the wind was so cool?
